RG Kar Medical College Incident: Civic Volunteer Accused of Rape and Murder – Bluetooth Headphone Parts Found in Seminar Hall

Various questions are being raised regarding the recovery of the body of the young doctor on duty at RG Kar Medical College Hospital. The mystery is getting more complicated. Police have already arrested a youth in this incident. He is being interrogated. According to Lalbazar sources, the young man is not from the hospital. He is an outsider. The question has arisen as to how he got up to the fourth floor of the hospital’s emergency department. Besides, the police also recovered a part of a torn headphone from the seminar hall on the fourth floor.

According to sources in Lalbazar, there was no CCTV camera in the hall where the young woman’s body was recovered from the four-floor seminar hall. Doctors sometimes used the room for rest. Sometimes female doctors would also change their clothes. So, there were no cameras. However, footage of the rest of the exterior is being scrutinized. A torn headphone part was found during a search of the seminar hall. It is said to be Bluetooth headphones. How it came there, whether it was the young woman or not, and whether the headphones have anything to do with the incident, are being investigated.

The arrest of an outsider in connection with the death of the young woman has raised questions about the security measures of the hospital. Questions have been raised about how the young man had climbed the four floors freely, whether the security guards had seen him, and why he was not stopped. A group of hospital doctors have already called for a strike demanding security. However, the emergency department is open.

The police arrested the youth on Friday night after examining the CCTV footage. He was interrogated throughout the night. According to Lalbazar sources, there was inconsistency in the young man’s answer. So, he was arrested on Saturday morning.

The body of a young woman doctor was recovered from the fourth-floor hall of the emergency department of RG Kar Hospital on Friday. Initially, the post-mortem report revealed that the young woman had bruises on her face, stomach, lips, throat, and even her genitals. It is not clear in the report how all those wounds were created. The girl’s family claims that their daughter was murdered. Based on their complaint, the police station has registered a case of rape as well as murder. The Kolkata police commissioner also went to the spot.

The Trinamool and BJP leadership appealed on Friday. Members of the left youth organization DYFI, led by Meenakshi Mukherjee, staged a protest on the hospital premises till night. Allegedly, this incident was initially being tried as suicide. A proper investigation has been demanded. The postmortem of the young woman’s body was conducted at the RG Kar Hospital itself. Meenaksheera also questioned that. They want to know why the autopsy is being conducted in the hospital where such an incident took place. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also spoke to the girl’s family on Friday. He assured proper investigation.
