Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give appointment letters to 71,000 youth at a job fair today. The initiative is part of the government’s ‘Rozgar Mela’ scheme, which aims to create large-scale employment opportunities across government departments and organizations. Through this program, the government is providing appointments to the youth in various ministries and departments, thereby attempting to increase efficiency and transparency in government services.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had distributed 75,000 appointment letters in October 2022, and since then lakhs of youth have been provided employment opportunities in several phases. The government aims to create 10 lakh government jobs by the end of 2024, thereby reducing the problem of unemployment in the country.

Under this initiative, vacant posts in various Ministries and Departments are being filled expeditiously. Technology is used extensively to make the appointment process transparent and time-bound to ensure fairness in the selection process. In addition, the government is implementing skill development programs.
