The Paris Paralympics is starting today i.e., 28 August. This event will run till 8 September. More than 100 members of the Indian contingent, including 52 players, will participate in the opening ceremony of the Paris Paralympics on Wednesday.
This ceremony will be held outside the stadium for the first time in the history of the Games. The opening ceremony will be held on the Champs Elysees and Place de la Concorde. The players who have competitions on Thursday will not participate in the parade of nations. This includes the 10-member shooting team.
Indian Paralympic Committee President Devendra Jhajhadia said, "The players who have matches on August 29 will not participate in the opening ceremony.The shooting squad has decided not to take part in the international parade. 52 players and 54 officials make up the 106 participants from India in the parade of nations. Javelin thrower Sumit Antil (F-64) and shotput player Bhagyashree Jadhav (F-34) will be the flag bearers of India.

Indian athletes will also be participating in this event. 84 athletes from India will participate in 12 sports. 95 officials have also gone with them. The Indian team consists of a total of 179 members. India's participation in this event will begin with para-badminton. On August 29, there will be para-badminton mixed doubles group stage, men's singles group stage and women's singles group stage. All three competitions will begin tomorrow at noon.
