Sunita Kejriwal asking help for Arvind Keriwal
On Saturday, Sunita Kejriwal urged people to support Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently imprisoned in connection with a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy.
Appealing to supporters on the official X page of the Aam Aadmi Party, she stated that Arvind Kejriwal is being targeted as part of a deep political conspiracy. “He’s a fairly intelligent, common man, nationalist, and fiercely devoted personality. If you do not stand by his side today, this country may never see educated and loyal people in politics again,” she said.

Sunita Kejriwal mentioned that the testimony given by TDP MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (MSR) to the Enforcement Directorate was the basis for the arrest of CM Arvind Kejriwal. She detailed how MSR testified to the ED about meeting Arvind Kejriwal in his office at the Delhi Secretariat to discuss land acquisition for a family charitable trust he wanted to open.
Delhi CM’s wife Sunita Kejriwal also said, “Kejriwal ji informed him that the land comes under the LG’s jurisdiction and advised him to submit an application,” but the ED did not like MSR’s responses. A few days later, MSR’s son, Raghav Reddy, was arrested by the ED. More testimonies were taken from MSR, but he continued to reiterate his initial statement as it was the truth, and his son’s bail was repeatedly denied.

She also alleged that due to the increasing pressure on MSR’s family, MSR’s elderly mother fell ill, and Raghav Reddy’s wife attempted suicide. Sunita Kejriwal said, “Under these circumstances, MSR broke down and changed his testimony before the ED on July 17, 2023.”
According to Sunita Kejriwal, the new testimony claimed that MSR had met Kejriwal in his office for four to five minutes, with about a dozen people present. There, Kejriwal allegedly asked MSR to start a liquor business and, in return, give INR 100 crore to the AAP.
In a money laundering case linked to alleged issues with his government’s scrapped excise policy from 2021–2022, Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21. Then Kejriwal was subsequently sent to jail.
Kejriwal received bail from the trial court in the ED case on June 20. However, on June 25, the Delhi High Court put a hold on this decision.
Upon his release from Tihar jail on May 10, Kejriwal launched a vigorous campaign against the BJP in the Delhi Lok Sabha election, urging voters to view their vote as a stand against his arrest. Despite his efforts, the BJP continued its winning streak, securing all seven seats in the capital once more, albeit with narrower victory margins.
