Another Nirbhaya Case-like incident has been witnessed in Delhi. Delhi police arrested three culprits who were involved in the gang rape of a woman. After tallying around 700 CCTV camera recordings and interrogating over 150 auto drivers, the police finally nabbed the culprits, bringing light to another disturbing news story in the capital.
Delhi’s Safety Questioned: The Capital Shamed Again
Three men gang-raped a young woman in a shocking incident near Delhi’s iconic ITO. The auto driver, who gave her a ride, also committed a similar assault inside his vehicle. This repeated brutality seriously affected the mental state of the victim, showing how dangerous it is for women to be on the streets of Delhi.
The victim was found walking half-naked and bleeding on the road. It was a horrific scene.
This is a story of a 34-year-old girl from Odisha. She was found half naked and bleeding badly on the middle road while walking from Rajghat to Sarai Kale Khan. Interestingly, thousands of vehicles passed from there without anyone inquiring or extending help. The incident had occurred at around 9:30 PM on 10-11 Oct.

Investigation: The police arrested several accused on reviewing CCTV tapes and interrogating the auto drivers.
After conducting a highly minute-level investigation, Delhi Police finally arrested the three accused, Pramod Babu, Prabhu Mahato, and Mohammad Shamsul. The police did not lose their vigilance and patience and monitored 700 feeds of CCTV cameras and interviewed over 150 auto drivers. Finally, the relentless efforts by the police paid off while arresting the culprits.
A Call from a Navy Officer Saves a Life
On October 10, around 3:00 AM, a navy officer noticed the girl lying in a roadside area near Sarai Kale Khan in an extremely critical condition. He promptly called the police, which may have saved her. The woman has been shifted to AIIMS and operated upon for injuries she received during the torture. She is now being treated there for psychiatric rehabilitation from the traumatic experience.

Arrest of the Suspect: Police Determined Efforts
The police launched an intense investigation into this incident, establishing 10 special teams to crack the case. For the next 21 days, officers of the South-East District tried hard to track down the accused. Among those nabbed were Pramod, a scrap shop worker, auto driver Prabhu, and Shamsul Langda – all of whom were later caught.
The Police’s Role: Woman Constable Pretends to be Social Worker
To win over the shattered victim, a lady constable named Sangeeta was sneaked in as a social worker. Thus, gaining her confidence, Sangeeta assists the woman in narrating the gruesome tale of the ordeal she had to face. It leaves one shivering at the crime and ensures that the victim’s voice rings out loud and clear.
Deception and Abandonment: How She Ended Up in Delhi
The victim, an MA in Social Work, was reportedly enticed to Delhi by an assurance of a good job. Unfortunately, once there, she was left abandoned and without support, leading to a train of unfortunate events. She finally found temporary refuge with a group of nuns in the Kishangarh area, but her mental health declined, resulting in being deserted on the streets.
Demanding Justice and Safety in Delhi
The incident shocked the country due to the concern that it raised about the safety of women in India’s capital. Delhi police, headed by DCP Ravi Kumar Singh and ACP Aishwarya Singh, assured delivering justice to the victim after shocking the nation with such an incident.
This heinous crime highlighted the need for better security measures and an increase in vigilance regarding the safety of women. Citizens of Delhi and the nation demand quick justice with the victim and guarantee that never again will a case of this sort happen.
