Pune is preparing for fresh storms following a day of violent rain that left five people dead. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an “orange” advisory. The most recent prognostic indicates that there will be”heavy rainfall” through hereafter and” moderate rainfall” through July 31.

Indian Air Force and Army Deployed in Pune
The Indian Air Force and Army have been placed on alert for flood relief operations in Pune and other areas, according to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Three of the four individuals perished as a result of electrocution at Pulachi Wadi in the Deccan Gymkhana region. In Maval tehsil’s Adarwadi hamlet, a landslide caused by rainfall is reported to have claimed the life of a fourth person.
NDRF Implemented, Colleges & Schools Closed
Most schools and colleges in Pune are closed due to the heavy rainfall warning issued by the weather service, coinciding with the intense monsoon.
In addition to Pune city, the district’s catchment areas for multiple dams, including Khadakwasla and the talukas of Mulshi, Velha, and Bhor, have been experiencing nonstop rain since Wednesday night.

Pune district collector Suhas Diwase told PTI that teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the disaster management cells have been stationed at low-lying areas as a precautionary measure since they are likely to experience flooding and inundation.
Additionally, Diwase issued an order closing all tourist attractions in the area for 48 hours.
The district government has also made it illegal for cars to cross bridges when there is a chance of flooding.

Due to flooding in the range, up to 29 visitors were cleared out stranded at resorts in the Malavli region near Lonavala slope station. Wednesday night, they were taken out, according to a police official.
Ajit Pawar, Pune Guardian Minister and Deputy Chief Minister assessed the situation as well and gave the district administration and civic administration instructions to give the residents all the assistance they require. On Thursday, there was also a lot of rain in several parts of Mumbai. According to news agency ANI, the IMD predicted moderate to severe rainfall along with wind gusts of 50 to 60 kmph in Mumbai.
